Network Developer- Southampton

Computer Futures are currently looking for Network Developers to work for an exciting compnay based in the Southampton area. You will be working in the existing firewall development team, and you will be responsible for planning, developing and unit testing new firewall features and network products.

*Keen interest in network and firewall technology and development.
*Solid Linux development experience in at least one high level programming language.
*Firewall administration or theory based on one or more of the following: iptables, ipfw, pf, or generic firewall.
*Understanding of all layers of the Internet protocol stack
*Understanding of structure and operation of IP network
*Understanding of functionality provided by common networking components: switch, router, firewall, proxy, NAT device
*UNIX skills as administrator/power user

Desirable:

*BSD socket API programming in any language on any platform
*IPv6 deployment
*C/C++/Perl
*Some understanding of routing protocols (eg. RIP, OSPF, BGP)
*Cryptography principles
*VPN technologies (IPsec, L2TP, OpenSwan/StrongSwan)
*Ethernet bridging
*Linux kernel (building, configuring, drivers etc)
*Experience with network analysis tools, e.g. wireshark, nmap, tcpdump
*QoS techniques, on any platform but ideally Linux
*CCNA qualification or similar
