KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide high-level design and development of solutions to meet client requirements, ensuring technical integrity of design and capability to deliver.
- Design, build, install, integrate and maintain multiple complex network technologies, platforms and/or systems and their interaction with processes and systems to deliver products and services to customer business units.
- Translate customer (internal, external or regulatory) needs and requirements, using technical principles into realisable products, services, or systems and/or networks infrastructure in a timely, quality and cost effective way to ensure operational capability to deliver customer service.
- Assess capability of vendor solutions and offerings to meet business requirements and manage vendor technology delivery.
- Make technology investment and business asset recommendations and assessments based on extensive knowledge of new and emerging technologies.
- Develop platform specific technology roadmaps that leverage opportunities from evolving and future technologies.
- Provide in-depth technical advice and service to clients/or and internal stakeholders to ensure development of efficient systems, utilising established architecture standards, processes, methodologies and tools.
- Act as a source of expertise across the business providing a range of advice and input into technology and service solutions decision-making, and future ICT technology directions and delivery.
- Contribute to the development of leading design practices and processes.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

- A minimum of 10 years experience in Data/IPTel Communications plus, a significant proportion will have been spent gaining a broad and deep knowledge of this specific area of expertise.
- Sound knowledge of telephony principles (both traditional and IP).
- Ability to develop quality voice solutions based on customer requirements.
- Solution Design and implementation of simplex/complex Cisco IP Tel solutions and Cisco Contact Centre solutions, ie CUCM, UCCE, UCCX.
- Solution Design and implementation of simplex/complex PABX voice network solutions, ie Ericsson, Avaya Definity/8700 & NEC.
- Bridging and Switching - ATM, MPLS/Tag Switching, Spanning Tree, VLANs and Data Link Switching.
- WAN Technologies - Frame Relay, ISDN, ADSL and X25.
- Routing Protocols - BGP, EIGRP, IP Multicast, and OSPF.
- Content Switching and Load Balancing, ie F5 platform.
- QoS - Classification, Congestion Management, Queue Management, Traffic Shaping and Policing Tools, Link Efficiency Mechanism.
- Security - Firewalls, Intrusion Detection and IPSec VPNs, ie Checkpoint, Juniper, Cisco.
- ISP Experience - Access Servers, Caching, DNS, HTML, Radius, SMTP and Web Servers.
