Network Design Engineer Job

SENIOR NETWORK DESIGN ENGINEER needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in St. Charles, MO.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Global network design and network/component standards, network roadmaps, audit compliance; investigation, testing, and deployment of new technologies to fit business needs.
- Perform a consultative role to both internal and external customers and at all levels of the organization.
- Responsibilities for the investigation into global regional office network standardization in preparation for additional corporate network security measures and deployment of new corporate services.
- Additional responsibilities will include documentation updates, identify equipment upgrades or any changes required, as well as implementation planning.
- Network analysis, determine architecture requirements, sight drawings, and implementation documentation for regional offices.
- Preparation for regional network security infrastructure enhancements.
- Preparation for the global unified communications deployment with VOIP, Video, and QoS in both regional office and campus environments.
- Analysis for the design, engineering, and implementation of complex network solutions in a variety of disciplines, emphasis on unified communications with Microsoft Lync Voice/Video, security postures, access control, and infrastructure including associated documentation.
- Develop and document standards related to regional office designs in support of unified communications, segmentation, VLANs, multicast, NAC, Posture Validation, and security infrastructure.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Network engineering, design, and architecture knowledge with exposure to two or more of the following areas: LAN/WAN, Firewalls, wireless, security, VOIP, QoS, and encryption technologies while adhering to standard design methodologies and best practices.
- Mastery of TCP/IP protocol communications, addressing and subnetting, knowledgeable with IPV6 addressing.
- Intimate networking knowledge with a large multi-site IP Telephony and network access control deployment including security best practices
- Firewall experience: Cisco ASA/CSM (Cisco Security Manager), and Checkpoint Secure Platform R7XRouters, Switches, load balancing, wireless, ACS, ISE, Cisco Prime LMS/NCS, Cisco AnyConnect, and IP Telephony/Call Manager.
- Intimate knowledge of Network diagnostics, protocols, and disciplines, EIGRP, BGP, eBGP, SNMP, VPN, SSH, and MPLS technologies; and Expert knowledge of security and encryption technologies including: IPSEC and GRE tunnels on Routers and Firewalls, certificates, and SSL/MSSL.
- Desirable or additional capabilities:
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, and excellent customer support capabilities.
- Self-motivated demonstrating strong organizational and listening skills; and very detail oriented with the ability to carry out assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
- Ability to consistently act in a professional manner and communicate with all levels of the organization, both internally and externally.
- Methodical problem resolving skills and mastery of developing high level and detailed network designs; solid web applications and technologies a plus; Cisco certifications such as CCNA or CCNP desired but not required; Security certifications such SSCP or CISSP desired but not required.
