Network/Data Engineer

This fast paced and very demanding position requires an operations/networking background combined with creative and independent thinking. This includes the ability to analyze complex circuit/networking issues and routing problems, an extensive knowledge in network design and maintenance, and an overall understanding of the IP transport principles. Also required are strong understanding of all emerging technologies and network security policies and standards. The candidate will be required to assist with developing automation tools and programming rules to manage daily routines.

Candidates applying for these positions will need to possess a very broad technical knowledge and understanding of large scale, LAN/WAN networks. An advance understanding of OSPF/BGP Routing Protocols, switching VLAN design and setup are required. Experience with MPLS on an LDP switched network is required. Experience in data networks supporting wireless services is also desired. They must possess the expertise to support less experienced peers in performing complex assignments and providing support for troubleshooting and maintaining IP Networks, concentrating on facilities ranging from Gigabit Ethernet to OC192. Candidates must have extensive knowledge/experience deploying and configuring Cisco high-end Routers and Switches (CRS, 12416 (GSR), 7613/09, 6509/4, 4800, 3600, 2900). Juniper M and MX series experience is a definite plus.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse team ARE REQUIRED.

A Bachelor's degree in related field plus minimum of 3 - 5 years experience is preferred. Equivalent work experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree may be considered. A Cisco CCNA certification (or equivalent: Juniper JNCIA, etc.) is required.

SKILLS

Required Certification: CCNA. Must have entry-level skills/experience with Unix Admin. Expertise in VLAN/Trunking, IP Routing BGP/OSPF/LDP, and Ethernet Transport required. Must have intermediate knowledge of Juniper M320/MX960. Expertise in Cisco 65xx/76xx and CCNA/JNCA needed. Intermediate Cisco CRS knowledge needed. SONET Transport desired.
