Network/Data Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Responsible for the management of the interoperability between Cisco and Juniper Layer 3 Platform, through the use of alarm and ticket systems, individual designed customized scripts, customer notification, and Business Partner escalations.
- Responsible for deploying new Routers, Switches, and trunk capacity as well as configuring them.
- Provide Real Time in-depth analysis and Real Time trouble resolution of incidents associated with the CISCO, Juniper, and associated Operations Support Systems, and Data Communications Network Technology platforms.
- Assist in customer User Acceptance Testing,
- Provide Tier 3 and Tier 4 support to the Network Center,
- Assist in network fault management.
- Support large MACD tasks.
- Performance optimization as required.
- Assist sales in pre-sales support and provide engineering pricing to project work as required.
- Provide regional lead engineering and technical support for data MACs/projects, certification of data equipment engineering, capacity and performance management and Tier 3 technical problem resolution.
- Responsible for ongoing technical analysis and approval of data MACs and complex projects, to ensure that disaster recovery/contingency requirements are being cared for, security requirements are met, and hardware and network compatibility is attained.
- Validates, recommends and facilitates technical data solutions to meet customer business needs in their regions.
- Works closely with the Chief Architect, Service Delivery/Project Managers and the Global Change Manager to ensure the successful design, development and implementation of activities in the network infrastructure.
- Attend weekly technology meetings with client.

SKILLS REQUIRED:
High School Diploma, fluent English, CCNA certification, 3+ years experience in a related field, 7-10 years experience in implementation and troubleshooting for a global network, strong technical skills, excellent script-writing skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong customer relationship and interpersonal skills in working with cross-functional team members and clients, in depth knowledge of BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS and site-to-site IPSEC tunnels & ISDN, in-depth knowledge of troubleshooting network issues with various routing protocols, QOS, & COS, VoIP, PAT, NAT and related technologies, fully Fluent with Cisco Routers, Switches, Gateways and the Cisco IOS, in depth knowledge of Layers 1 thru Layers 3 of the OSI model. Must be able to write varying types of change related configuration scripts with validation steps to ensure network functionality, able to analyze Sniffer reports, design and implement end to end solutions, familiar with Spanning Tree Protocol, VLANS and Inter-VLAN routing, provide project implementation support and Wide Area Network Design for small - large Wide Area Networking projects, including tasks as follows (Visio design, configuring Routers, site acceptance support, Site documentation Package support creation, Circuit ordering information, Creation of Equipment Order List). Excellent client interfacing skills, Router Script development and implementation, assist in customer User Acceptance Testing, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, Troubleshooting network/Routing Protocols, QOS and COS, Cisco Routers, Switches, Gateway, change related configuration scripts, Flexibility 24 x 7. Complete understanding of Layer Two Switching concepts as well as configuring and troubleshooting VLANs, understanding of IEEE 802. Solid technical background on Cisco and Juniper Multi-services Platforms, CCNA certification.
