Network Analyst ( LAN/WAN/Security Standards ) Job

NETWORK ANALYST/NETWORK ENGINEER needed for a CONTRACT TO HIRE opportunity with Yoh's client located near Chula Vista, CA

THE BIG PICTURE:

- Responsible for the management and security of computer hardware, network equipment, and software systems that make up the complex tolling system for the South Bay Expressway.
- This position is located in the OTAY MESA/CHULA VISTA AREA OF SAN DIEGO, CA

TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Fortigate or Sonicwall, Network LAN/WAN, Network Security experience and Knowledge of Data Security standards.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Network Analyst/Network Engineer will Plan, design, and implement DATA CONNECTIVITY FOR LOCAL AREA NETWORK (LAN) AND WIDE AREA NETWORK (WAN) SYSTEMS.
- Network Analyst/Network Engineer will CONFIGURE, INSTALL, TEST, AND MONITOR ROUTERS, SWITCHES, FIREWALLS, INTRUSION PREVENTION SYSTEMS, VIRTUAL PRIVATE NETWORKS (VPNS), and other devices to maintain optimal network performance and access control.
- Network Analyst/Network Engineer ASSIST WITH ANALYSIS AND ADMINISTRATION OF THE PAYMENT CARD INDUSTRY DATA SECURITY STANDARD (PCI DSS), STATE PRIVACY LAWS AND CALIFORNIA DMV SECURITY COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS.
- Network Analyst/Network Engineer Create, update, and maintain system documentation, network diagrams, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) documents.
- Network Analyst/Network Engineer Analyze system security; review daily system and Intrusion Protection System logs, complete periodic vulnerability assessments, and create monthly and quarterly audit reports.
- Resolve hardware issues; diagnose and correct failures in communications, network, and wireless network equipment.
- PARTICIPATE IN THE DESIGN, DEVELOPMENT, IMPLEMENTATION AND MAINTENANCE OF VMWARE BASED VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENT AND RELATED STORAGE AREA NETWORK (SAN).
- Participate in the design and management of contingency, business recovery, and disaster recovery plans; periodically review, test, and maintain these plans.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- At least three (3) years of progressive career development SUPPORTING NETWORK, SECURITY, AND VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENTS.
- Knowledge of network access and control protocols and wireless encryption technologies and routing protocols; knowledge of various network monitoring tools and authentication software.
- Experience with Fortigate or Sonicwall Firewalls.
- Knowledge of Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS) or other similar data security standards.

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelors degree with major course work in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- Experience configuring, installing, and maintaining VMWare based Virtual Environment and storage area networks (SAN).
- SIP or VOIP telephony experience
