Network Administrator - 6 Month Contract - Australian Citizens Only

A great opportunity for a Network Administrator with extensive hands on experience with HP Procurve and CISCO Networking Technologies.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Demonstrate experience in a senior network administration role.
- Relevant IT qualification or certification (degree and/or relevant industry experience).
- Strong experience in LAN/WAN (eg Ethernet, ICON, VSAT) technologies.
- Experience in the implementation and support of network technologies such as TCP/IP, VLANs, VPN, DNS, NTP.
- Strong deployment and configuration experience of networking devices such as Cisco Routers and HP Procurve Switches.
- Experience with working within a mixed Windows and UNIX environment.
- Understanding of network security technologies (eg Firewalls, IDS, VPN).
- Understanding of network collaboration technologies such as VoIP, Video Conferencing.
- Understanding of governance and security requirements as they apply to Federal Government ICT environments.
- Demonstrated ability to select and exercise an appropriate range of analytical, problem solving and investigative skills/techniques as required by each situation.
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
- Experience working within the principles of ITIL and Prince2 methodologies.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

- Extensive recent hand-on experience in HP Procurve and CISCO networking technologies and ability to design technical solutions including upgrades across these technologies for WAN, LAN and Wireless networks
- Extensive experience in the support of core network infrastructure services
- Strong experience in gateway configuration, design and support
- Ability to manage and enhance relationships with internal ICT teams, users and their managers
