Network Administrator

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

- Primary responsibility is monitoring the availability of the IT environment. Responsibility for the monitoring and restoration of the Infrastructure following documented processes.
- Work with groups within IT Infrastructure and IT Applications in resolving problem issues.
- Must be flexible with O.T. and possible shift changes to cover for vacation/sickness.
- Perform routine Operational Demand Requests such as DNS, DHCP, Server or Network changes.
- Work with other analysts within the 24x7 environment

SKILLS:

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Working knowledge and experience working within a Corporate Ticketing system for Incident Management
- Experience working within a large corporate Data Network environment. (Strong Cisco Preferred).
- Working knowledge of IT network and systems management tools (experience with HP Openview NNM, HP OVPI & CiscoWorks)
- Proven skills in troubleshooting and resolving problems with a large scale IT distributed systems.
- Ability to correlate problems with causes, and involve higher level technical personnel support personnel, as needed, for timely resolution of IT network and systems outages
- Ability to compile operating data/statistics and prepare performance reports
- Knowledge and experience with Windows 2003/2008, XP, Win7
- Knowledge with Sun, Redhat and HP/UX
- Knowledge of AD, DNS, DHCP

DESKTOP SKILLS:

- Experience with Microsoft Office suite

OTHER IT SKILLS:

- Familiarity with change management practices in an IT operating environment
- Familiarity with IT network security practices

- Ability to work with internal IT clients of varying abilities
- Ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to handle high pressure situations

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

- This position may require emergency call-in during severe storm mobilization and electric system damage restoration.
