Job Title: Network Administrator

Type: Contract- 4 months

Location: Lawrenceville, GA

Synergis has an immediate opening for a Network Administrator for our client in Lawrenceville, GA. This is estimated to be a 4 month contract position. The Network Administrator will be responsible for day-to-day administration, maintenance and security of core networking equipment and connected services. This role is responsible for proactive monitoring and incident response based on client's IT guidelines for problem resolution. This includes checking server and Firewall logs, scrutinizing network traffic, aid in establishing and updating virus scans, and troubleshooting. The Network Administrator will analyze and resolve security breaches and vulnerability issues in a timely and accurate fashion, and conduct user activity audits where required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Aid in the development, management and maintenance of all networking systems and their corresponding or associated software, including configurations, VPN setups, communications interfaces, etc. Responds as a primary technical resource to identify and resolve any outages or disruptions affecting network performance.
- Aid in the development, management and maintenance of all security systems and their corresponding or associated software, including Firewalls, intrusion detection systems, cryptography systems and anti-virus software
- Develop, implement, maintain and oversee enforcement of policies, procedures and associated plans for system security administration and user system access based on industry-standard best practices
- Design, perform and/or oversee penetration testing of all network systems in order to identify system vulnerabilities
- Design, implement and report on security system and end user activity audits
- Network/Server Backups.
- Firewall maintenance and configuration.
- Email configuration and maintenance.
- Wi-Fi configuration and maintenance
- Monitoring of all ISP connections and external traffic
- Configuration and maintenance of Load Balancers and DNS

REQUIREMENTS:

- 2-3 years knowledge of IP Networking, Design, IP Addressing, DNS (local and Internet), Routing, Switching, VLANs, etc.
- Experience with Load Balancing (eg Barracuda, F5).
- Experience with fiber channel Storage Area Networks (eg EMC VNX, HP MSA).
- Proven Network/Server Troubleshooting skills in a Windows environment.
- Cisco Router knowledge - CCNA is a plus.
- Experience with VMware/vSphere.
- Windows Scripting (eg Bash, Perl, PowerShell).
- Strong Windows skills (eg Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 7).
- Active Directory 2003 and 2008 experience with strong group policy and Security knowledge.
- Exchange Server 2007/2010 support/maintenance experience.
- Ability to manage projects.
