Network Administrator

Our client is seeking a Network Admin to be responsible for maintaining a network in an industrial manufacturing environment. The network consists of approximately 180 Workstation class computers, 30 server class computers, 35 Switches, as well as printers, PLCs and other devices. The primary responsibility will be general hardware, printer, software support, basic network administration, break-fix, system backup administration, operating system installations and upgrades. (Responsibilities do not include PLC maintenance or programming.)

Example Duties:

- Replace defective monitors, hard disks, printers etc.
- Upgrade Windows Operating System on workstations.
- Set up new Workstation including installing operating system and specialized application software.
- Set up new Servers including operating system, database, specialized server applications.
- Maintain an existing database of devices on the network.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues.
- Install network equipment and cabling.
- Identify and implement unique solutions to solve manufacturing operational needs.
- Maintain software license compliance.
- Maintain current hardware and software support agreements with suppliers.

REQUIREMENTS

- 2 years Microsoft Windows desktop administration
- 1 year Microsoft Windows Server administration
- Computer repair
- Network administration
- Willingness to work after hours occasionally
- Very good interpersonal skills
- Willingness to accept new challenges
- Willingness to work in dusty environments

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

- MCSE, MCNA or other Microsoft certifications
- A+ certification
- Cisco experience
- Unix/Linux
- VMware
- Database administration
- HTML, Batch file or Scripting experience
- Verbal and written Communication skills
- Teamwork skills
- Demonstrated initiative and problem solving ability

This contract position is expected to be 12 months in duration.
