Netezza DBA Support

My client a well know Managed Service Company are seekinh an experienced Netezza DBA support contractor for a long term contract for 12 months.

NETEZZA DBA SUPPORT REQUIREMENTS:

- Ad-hoc onsite operational support - Melbourne CBD
- Develop runbook support procedures
- Respond to incoming Netezza DBA related incidents from Service Desk support and perform incident resolution in accordance with the service levels
- Retrieve and respond to incident tickets assigned via the Service Management Tool
- Log ad-hoc Netezza DBA Service Requests into the Service Management tool
- Adhere to established account governance framework
- Provide incident and ad-hoc service request status updates
- Design, develop & test strategies - Advice and best practice for Data loads ( Legacy or New ) to support the Data Migration efforts and create data migration procedures
- Implement performance tuning changes
- Develop and enforce the Netezza database standards, guidelines and operational policies and procedures.
- Advice and standards on table design: improving table distribution and organisation for performance
- Advising on data distribution and collocated joins and the use of zone maps.
- Update data model guidelines: Netezza specific advice on data types, keys and view design.
- Data Load support: provide help connecting to Netezza from DataStage, CDC and Data Click
- Develop inputs for capacity planning
- Evaluate and test new DB features/functionality.
- Performance Tune DB applications
- Review appropriate DB security guidelines/mechanism. Update ETL load standards and recommend use of DML statements where appropriate.
- Execute table migrations where needed.
- Optimising common SQL Queries: ensuring Statistics are up to date, helping optimise views and BI queries.
- Create, migrate, change, grant DB objects in prod (DB, Users, DDLs, Roles, Security)
- Develop, implement, maintain, and test backup & recovery strategies in conjunction with NBN Co
- Start and stop Netezza appliances
- Create Netezza user accounts in Linux environment
- Assist NBN Co with the creation and maintenance of the Netezza environments
- System health Check
- Micro Design documentation updates as required
