For a project at our banking client in Zurich we are looking for a NETBACKUP SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR
The NetBackup System Administrator will perform Netbackup administration, backup storage assessments, performance analysis, capacity planning and disaster recovery planning. During 2015, the backup infrastructure will be migrated from SYMANTEC Netbackup onto COMMVAULT Sympana and support is required on the Legacy infrastructure to allow permanent staff to concentrate on the new technology.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Second (SLS) level support, problem management - investigating and resolving Backup/Restore problems and implementing solutions
- Plan, coordinate and manage large-scale backup changes
- Administer backup environments to monitor and manage enterprise data management processes
- Configure and manage backup infrastructure including tape libraries and disk based backup targets
- Monitor backup processes and errors to ensure overall system performance, health and stability
- Perform routine operational backup administration duties including troubleshooting of issues, backup optimization as required
- Analyze problems and make decisions to remediate backup issues
- Perform incident and problem/change management
- React and respond to day to day incidents and changes related to backup administration, including but not limited to disk space, data backup and recovery, disaster recovery, and failed backups
- Manage daily backup status reports
- Review and Sign-Off documentation of day to day operational procedures
- there will be weekend work maybe 4 times a year
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Solid understanding of offline storage fundamentals, concepts, and components with priority on NETBACKUP, ACS, Disc and tape libraries and deduplication. Sympana Adminitration/Support desirable
- Experience with UNIX (Solaris) or Linux or Windows (W2008 R2) is required
- Must be able to evaluate the entity of incidents and outages
- Tactical planning, analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills
- Ability to develop relationships with other teams (application, DB, etc.) local as well in other regions (global organization)
- EXPERIENCE OF LARGE ENTERPRISE ENVIRONMENTS
- SOLID SPOKEN AND WRITTEN ENGLISH
