Netbackup Engineer Job

NETBACKUP ENGINEER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in St. Louis, MO.

TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Netbackup 7.5 and 7.6
- Enterprise backup and recovery
- LTO Tape Technologies
- EMC SAN experience
- Symantec backup appliances

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing, and supporting simple to moderately complex components of the backup and recovery infrastructure.
- Represent the Storage/Backup and Recovery Department in support of IT projects of varying scopes.
- Responsible for the evaluation and engineering associated with backup and recovery requests.
- Provide incident and problem resolution for simple to moderately complex issues and assists with performing disaster recovery exercises.
- Participate in the department's on-call rotation.
- Uses advanced knowledge of professional concepts and company objectives to resolve a wide-range of issues in a creative and effective way.
- Establish and maintain documentation of the current technology state and effectively propose enhancements.
- Assists with project planning; coordinates activities of project phases.
- Prepares and delivers informal and formal presentations to own team, department, and other IT teams.
- Establishes, fosters and maintains relationships within the department.
- Interacts with other IT teams, business teams, and vendors, as assigned.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience working with enterprise backup/recovery technologies.
- Symantec Netbackup (version 7.5 & 7.6) is required.
- On-call rotation required - contractor can expect to be on-call every 5-6 weeks.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience working with enterprise backup/recovery technologies.
- Symantec Netbackup (version 7.5 & 7.6) is required.
- At least three (3) years of experience in systems design and development.
- At least three (3) years of experience with business requirements gathering/analysis.
- At least three (3) years of experience with LTO tape technologies/tape libraries and offsite rotation.
- At least two (2) years of experience with EMC Data Domain.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, knowledge of backup/recovery practices, and the ability to document solutions.
- Proficient Scripting Skills.

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience with EMC storage
- Experience with Symantec Purpose Based Backup Appliances
- Multi-Platform (Windows, UNIX, Oracle, AS400) experience
