JOB ROLE: NET BACKUP ADMINISTRATOR
JOB TYPE: CONTRACT
LOCATION: PRAGUE,CZECH REPUBLIC.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Relevant experience in Symantec Net Backup and Backup Exec
- Software Versions-Old and new, Advantages of new over previous, Difference with previous release and EMM Structure.
- Backup Architecture, Master server, Media server, Client, EMM server, Ops Center, Tape Library and Disks.
- Understanding the daemon flow, working with Net Backup GUI and CLI
- Concepts and good knowledge of Oracle, MSSQL, DB2 and SAP backups
- NDMP and virtual environment backups.
- Configuration of Volume Pools, Storage Units, SLP, Policies, Tape drives and Robot.
- Troubleshooting of backup failures by analysing the logs
- Installation and Configuration of Master/Media Servers and clients
- Performing catalog backup and restores, catalog recovery
- Different types of tape libraries and the tape drives.
- Duplication, De-duplication, Replication of backed-up data
- Good knowledge of disk staging, high water and low water marks.
- Good understanding of UNIX (all flavors) and Windows Operating Systems
- ITSM tool like Remedy (Incident and Change Management)

OTHER SKILLS

- Worked on Production systems
- Data center understanding
- Experience with Migration, Installation, Upgrades and Patching
- Storage Management Techniques
- Familiarity with:
- IP Network
- WAN and LAN free (SAN) based data backup design and configuration
- Data protection and backup recovery solutions familiarity such as
- using virtual tape
- disk to disk to tape
- data replication
- File System and Database Familiarity

ESSENTIAL

- Relevant experience in Hitachi Storage Administration/Support
- Working knowledge on Veritas NetBackup Administration
- Experience on Unix and/or Windows systems administration

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

- Storage Certification/ITIL
