Net/Microsoft Add-in Consultant

We are seeking an experienced .NET developer to create a Microsoft PowerPoint Add-In which brings the existing functionality of FRED graphs into end-users PowerPoint presentations. The Add-in needs to be written in Visual Studio 2012, be able to work with PowerPoint 2007, 2010 and 2013, and be compatible with Microsofts operating system and depending on cost, Apples operating system as well. An ideal candidate will be proficient with both APIs and PHP because the developed solution will likely interact with the existing FRED API and website.

The PowerPoint Add-in will give end users the ability to edit FRED graphs directly in PowerPoint. At a minimum, the most common editing tools (change the units, change date range, and add a data series) will be available in PowerPoint. The Add-in will be made available to the public as a free download on the FRED website. Educators, students, and researchers will be the primary users of the Add-in.

The successful job candidate will need to:

- Recommend the best development strategy for this product
- Develop a fully functional Microsoft PowerPoint Add-in for FRED graphs
- Demonstrate the PowerPoint Add-in†s functionality to key stakeholders
- Submit all source code and documentation necessary to update and maintain the Add-in

Skills/Requirements

- Three (+) years†experience with the following:

o Visual Studio 2012

o VSTO (Visual Studio Tools for Office)

o C# or VB.NET

o PHP

- Experience developing Add-ins for Microsoft software
- Experience developing applications which depend on an API
- Strong knowledge of software implementation best practices and documentation.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines, working with minimal direction and supervision.

Preferred Skills

- Experience developing Microsoft PowerPoint Add-ins

Education

Candidate should have achieved a BS degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems or equivalent experience.
