.NET DEVELOPER

SKILLS: C# - needs to be strong in C#, good understanding of WCF, WPF and MVC, Strong Windows developer, Strong OOD concepts, Knowledge of MS SQL

SUMMARY:

Our client provides immediate information on sever weather and local forecast for more than 700 affiliates.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Responsibilities will include but will not be limited to architecting technical solutions, designing and writing code, participation in code reviews, writing unit tests, and assisting in debugging on-air production issues
- The successful candidate will expand the existing Back Office and internal systems tools by implementing GUI and database enhancements as well as providing Back End server development. They will also participate in the design of next-gen Back Office systems
- The .NET Developer will provide regular training and tools to the Tier 1 and Tier 2 teams to minimize Tier 3 escalations at the direction of the development manager. They will be the first line of support for troubleshooting issues in the DEV and QA environments
- Strong focus on results, creativity, initiative, work ethic

REQUIREMENTS:

- 3-5+ years of hands-on, software development
- 3-5+ years experience with Object Oriented Design and Development
- 3-5+ years of recent hands-on experience developing or supporting large, complex software applications on a Windows platform
- 3-5+ years of experience in a majority of the following areas:
- Languages: C#/C++/Python/Java, JSP/XML/Powershell/Bash/F# or Clojure (desired), WPF, WCF, Windows Workflows
- Java API: Apache Struts (MVC)
- Databases: SQL, Oracle (stored procedures, packages)
- Version control: GIT/Subversion
- OS: Windows Server, OSX, Linus

SKILLS:

- Results oriented professional with ability to learn quickly in a dynamic fast paced environment
- Experience with test-driven development, continuous integration, and Agile and/or Kanban practices
- Proven strong background with database queries, stored procedures, and packages
- Strong background in Windows (.NET) development
- Extensive skills in source code control methods (ideally with Subversion and/or GIT)
- Knowledge and experience with virtual machines
- Experience with test automation frameworks/tools (NUnit, MSTest, or other)
- Experience with load testing and system performance tuning
