OUR CLIENT IS A GROWING VETERINARY HEALTHCARE COMPANY 825 LOCATIONS NATIONWIDE SEEKING A .NET DEVELOPER/PROGRAMMER FOR A PREMIUM CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY.

The primary purpose and function of the .NET Developer is to build and support the software utilized in the hospital network of the practice. This position will participate in the design and development of the source system application used to service the financial and medical needs onsite, working with both business and system analysts to understand and detail technical solutions to business requirements, implementing features using test driven development methods, and work with Software Quality Assurance to support testing efforts.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

- Participate in the design and development of the source system application.
- Ability to use programming languages and advanced tools to analyze applications containing graphical user interfaces, structured query languages, complex business rules, network capability, and help compilation skills.
- Provide user requirements analysis, systems analysis, design, and programming support for business application systems development and enhancement.
- Interact with system analysts and the development team to create technical solutions to functional business requirements.
- Code, test, document, problem solve, and advise users on system use.
- Use creativity and initiative to help shape the future of the technology with significant business impact.
- Support testing efforts during SQA and customer acceptance testing.
- Adherence to policies, procedures, standards.
- Ability to report on project schedules and estimates.
- Other job duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

- Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time
- Project timelines and work volume/deadlines may often require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties of this job
- Must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and to solve problems involving several variables
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds
- Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate necessary equipment
- The noise level in the work environment is normally moderate
- Environment where pets are present

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science preferred, or the equivalent combination of education, training
- Minimum four years programming with the following experience required: .NET framework 3.5, C#, Winforms, XML, ASP.NET, WCF, Unit Test (Moq)
- Understanding of iterative software development life cycle methodology such as Agile, Scrum and RUP
- Object Oriented Design/Development
- Working knowledge of MS SQL Server 2008 preferred
- Prefer healthcare background (veterinary or human healthcare, pharmaceutical, etc.)
- Ability manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Fluent reading, writing and speaking communication skills (English)
- Organizational ability
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to provide attentive, courteous and informative customer service
- Shows initiative and aptitude to use own discretion in taking appropriate steps in finding solutions to problems
- Flexibility toward changing situations and opportunities and is willing to perform all tasks assigned
- Independence to perform tasks and duties without supervision
- Tolerance for stress/resiliency
