Contract Term
This position closes at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 11th, 2013.
This is a 6 month contract to perm opportunity with an oil and gas company.Overview
Our client is seeking a .NET Developer. A Developer is responsible for transforming application designs into tangible application components through the development of application logic, user interfaces, data interfaces, data conversion scripts and reports.
A Developer typically works under the guidance and direction of a Developer Analyst, Systems Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or Lead Business Systems Analyst.Role and Responsibilities
- Develop application components to automate and streamline business processes and functions, according to design specifications
- Develop data conversion scripts to load data from external sources according to design specifications, and correct data quality or integrity problems
- Develop estimates of effort for development of, and/or modification to, application components
- Maintain technical specifications and documentation
- Troubleshoot, debugging and fix problems that occur in the everyday use of an application
- Monitor regularly scheduled jobs for successful completion.
Qualifications
Required Skills
- Highly developed analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal and team skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in N-tier application analysis, design and development using the appropriate development environments and tools (Microsoft VB 6, Microsoft VB.NET/ASP .Net, MS SQL Server Reporting Services, Microsoft Composite UI Application, Mere Mortals, Infragistics, MS SQL Server Reporting Services, Remedy, Application Manager (Appworxs), and/or Oracle stored procedures and PL*SQL
- General proficiency with SQL and database query tools such as Microsoft Access and/or SQL+
- Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing abilities
- From 3 to 5 years experience as a Developer, preferably in the upstream oil and gas industry, experience with Production Accounting Applications would be an asset.
- From 2 to 5 years experience supporting applications in the business area assigned
- A post secondary degree in Computer Science or a related field of study.
