NET/C# Developer

For our client, a global banking company located in Zurich, Harvey Nash is looking for a C#/.NET developer for a 12-month contract.

Key Responsibilities:

- Working independently and as part of a small team in an agile environment, under the guidance of the tech lead
- Developing components on a Microsoft 3-tier architecture system, with focus on both Front End and middle tier
- Enhancing existing functionalities and designing/implementing new features following coding best practices
- Taking part in extending the testing framework and maintaining/improving unit tests
- Understanding the business specifications, converting requirements into technical solutions
- Supporting the Production Environment and the end-users

Essentials Skills and Qualifications:

- Strong skills in OOP, .NET C# 4.5 or above, LINQ, multi-threading
- Strong experience with WPF/MVVM pattern (candidates with extensive Silverlight knowledge could also be considered)
- Usage of Infragistics or other third party UI controls
- 4.Experience designing UI from a usability/user interaction point of view
- Good oral/written communication, positive and proactive team attitude
- Strong analytic and problem solving skills, flexible on moving targets
- Good spoken and written English

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

- Web technologies: Asp.NET MVC & Web Api, JavaScript (jQuery, angular, knockout, )
- DB design, SQL, including SQL Server 2008 or above
- WCF, messaging/queue technologies
- Entity Framework or other Persistence Layers
- Unit testing (eg NUnit) and mocking frameworks
- Inversion of Control frameworks (eg Castle, Spring, )
- Higher Education, such as Bachelor Degree in Computer Science
- Previous experience in the Finance/Insurance industries (ideally within Trading/Portfolio Management)
- Good spoken and written German
