Net Application Developer - International Organization - Geneva

For a Project by an International Organization based in Geneva, Bechtle suisse romande wishes to recruit one consultant developer with experience in Web Development, Web Services, Javascript UI frameworks, C# .NET, Database modelling and MS SQL Server programming experience to develop a Time Series Database.
The recruiting department maintains a number of statistical time series which are used for its statistical publications as well as for empirical research and analytical studies in support of the department Secretariat and its members. Currently only a small subset of these data is available online for the public. Most other data is currently dispersed in various databases or available in a number of electronic formats, such as Excel.
The project proposes to set up a database which will pool together existing statistical time series into a common format. The system will also allow the flexible storage of statistical metadata informing the user on the meaning, coverage and specific notifications about the time series.
SCOPE OF THE MISSION
1. Design and build the time series database system
2. Build a user-friendly and flexible online data retrieval tool for time series selection, data viewing and download into various output formats
3. Develop data loading procedures to extract, transform and load (ETL) the data from the pre-processed data stores into the dissemination database. Pre-processing includes the calculation of derived data like shares, growth rates, indexes etc. The data loading procedures will perform simple validations such as consistency checks, overall record count, and record the user making the change.
YOUR COMPETENCIES
Minimum 7 years of professional experience in Software development,
C# development using MS Visual Studio, .Net Web development preferably with experience in Web MVC, building .NET web Services ASMX, WCF or Web API, JavaScript UI Frameworks, Transact SQL, SQL Server 2008, designing and optimizing relational database models.
