NET Application Architect

For our client in Brussels we are currently looking for a .NET Application Architect

Duration: 12 months

(Depending on project evolution, extension is possible)

Location: Brussels, Belgium

Languages: Dutch OR French with basic knowledge of the other language

English: Fluent

Our client, leader in insurance is actively searching for a .NET Application Architect to join its architecture team. The architecture team sets out and follows up the architecture guidelines of all starting big projects and assures the quality of the existing and new patrimony of applications.

Your goal:

Application Development projects
Design the technical (.NET) architecture of all starting application development projects.
Explain, coach & follow-up the .NET development team during these projects.
Give support to the development team & help to solve all occurring problems during development.
Collaborate with the colleague .NET architects and constructively come to the best solutions.
Collaborate with colleague architects to integrate the .NET part of the solution in the global solution.
Report to project leaders & managers on risks, issues, planning,

Quality Assurance
Ensure the quality of new built and existing applications.
Propose the required standards, guidelines, best practices to maintain the quality at a high level.
Propose tools, techniques to be able to maintain the quality at a high level.
Analyze performance issues, search for root causes & solve these issues.
Propose KPI's to track quality or performance on a recurrent basis.

Level of education required:
Master degree in Informatics or equivalent through experience.

Business experience required:

Mandatory
Experience as a .NET developer on business applications. (3 years min.)
Experience on "modern" web applications (eg Javascript & Ajax driven) (3 years min.)
Experience as a software/application .NET architect. (3 years min.)

Preferable
Experience on projects with different technology stacks, integration aspects (with packages or external solutions) & infrastructure aspects.
Experience in insurance or financial domain.

Technical experience required:
Mandatory
Advanced knowledge & experience in .NET C# & NET framework (from 2.0 to latest) (3 years min.)
Advanced knowledge & experience in following standard .NET technologies (ASP .NET forms & MVC, WCF, ADO.NET, Entity Framework). (3 years min.)
Knowledge & experience in following other .NET technologies (REST, WIF, workflow foundation 4.0) (3 years min.)
Advanced knowledge & experience of web client JavaScript (JavaScript, jquery)
Knowledge of technologies & framework around JavaScript (Jquery UI, Jquery templating, knockoutjs )
Knowledge of popular technologies & framework built around .NET (enterprise library, mocking framework eg Moq, IOC container, etc.)
Experience in unit testing frameworks (MSTest, Nunit..)
Knowledge of SQL Server
Knowledge of TFS (egsource control, Work items, Build)
Being aware of best practices, trends & evolutions of the IT industry and most particularly Microsoft technologies stacks.

Preferable
Experience in solving performance related problems specifically on web applications eg caching + web traffic optimization )
Experience in automated performance & load testing
Experience in unit testing of UI & JavaScript (Qunit)
Knowledge of queuing, BizTalk technology
Knowledge of SQL server SSIS, SSRS.
Knowledge on SharePoint, dynamics CRM
Knowledge of authentication/authorization standards such as openID, SAML, EID usage

Functional experience required:

Mandatory
Strong knowledge and experience of most common design patterns (dependency injection, MVC, MVVM ) & OO
Experience in development guidelines,
