NERC Engineer

SEEKING A NERC ENGINEER TO:
Reviewing PLS-CADD models and evaluating the associated LiDAR data.
Identifying clearance outliers and their resolution.
Iterating PLS-CADD models to determine maximum conductor operating temperatures.
Performing field investigations of conductor clearances along transmission Right of Ways.
Interpreting and working with patrol maps, plan & profile drawings, and property maps.
Interfacing with Project Management, Survey Engineering, Maintenance/Construction, Siting, Permitting, and Legal.
Interfacing with external engineering vendors.
Developing cost effective engineering solutions to address field conditions.
Reviewing and approving engineering design drawings.
Providing field support to construction activities.
Reviewing and approving project as-built drawings. SKILLS:

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
BS in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis.
Initiative, strong work ethic, and good interpersonal skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
Ability to readily learn new software and its application.
Ability to walk rough terrain in transmission ROWs.
Valid motor vehicle license and vehicle. Candidates must have a clean driving record and valid DL. Will be occasional driving. Will use personal vehicle and can be reimbursed for mileage.

The following experience is preferred:
Experience in transmission line design.
Working knowledge of the NESC code.
Working knowledge of PLS-CADD.
Experience in Survey engineering.
Experience in the use of Raster imaging and manipulating/scaling tif files.
