NCIRC SYSTEMS ENGINEER -Mons, Belgium-Contract- 12mths + - €Excellent

Description

My client is looking to recruit SYSTEMS ENGINEERS contracted for Mons, Belgium, with this International Assignment. The successful candidates will be Embedded in the cyber defence operation and will need to keep abreast of evolving Cyber threats, developing sophisticated infrastructure designs that help to deliver the NCIRC and influence the wider NATO networks security needs.

The role requires candidates with a good working knowledge of network and systems infrastructure technologies to support, maintain and develop complex systems topologies. The position requires demonstrable experience within a previous systems engineering role preferably working in secure environment such as MOD/GOV/NATO.

Current UK SC Security clearance/NATO Secret is essential

Requirements

The Systems Engineer will be Embedded in the cyber defence operation and will need to keep abreast of EVOLVING CYBER THREATS, developing sophisticated infrastructure designs that help to deliver the NCIRC and influence the wider NATO networks security needs.

The Systems Engineer will be a member of the highly specialised engineering team that is responsible for the ongoing systems engineering of the NCIRC Full Operation Capability (FOC) infrastructure. The Systems Engineer will work with the operational support team to review the network designs, security functions and accreditation of the NCIRC infrastructure. As part of the service that NCIRC delivers to the wider NATO stakeholders, he/she will be involved in the evaluation of NATO network security architectures and providing advice and how to enhance the security protection.

The role includes primarily hands-on implementation tasks, with some design work in support of the other system support engineering staff. The successful candidate must be proactive, diligent with a strong technical ability. The current projects will require an awareness of Cyber capabilities and an understanding of enabling security lockdown and controls to allow system accreditation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

- Provide software auditing to ensure compliance with NATO policies and directives.
- Provide advice to projects, plans, policy.
- Provide representation to the Configuration Change Board (CCB) and ad-hoc support to security comities and workgroup (IWG).
- Provide significant specialist technical security support and assistance to projects, host nations and committees (Potential involvement in bid development/evaluation).
- Ensure the outcome of the accreditation process and documentation.
- Initiate, define and develop secure solutions for NATO CIS.
- Ensure the availability and continuity of services for the complete NCIRC core CIS.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & KNOWLEDGE

A motivated, self-managed individual who is willing to help design and adapt a constantly evolving service. Someone who can demonstrate security domain knowledge and liaise professionally with peers and NATO stakeholders, even under pressure.

- A sound knowledge of IT security best practice, common attack types and detection/prevention methods.
- Demonstrable experience of analysing and interpreting system, security and application design and the implementation of changes to network configurations
- Experience of maintaining a secure network through configuring and managing typical SECURITY ENFORCING DEVICES, such as FIREWALLS, PROXIES, IDS/IPS DEVICES, EPO. KNOWLEDGE OF SNORT.
- In depth experience of other common devices, such as ROUTERS, SWITCHES, HUBS. Troubleshooting Windows environments and Virtual Machine environments
- Must be capable of communicating clearly with team members and other analysts. Able to demonstrate READING, WRITING AND SPOKEN ENGLISH to NATO IS level III as a minimum. (B1 of the Council of Europe/Association of Language Testers in Europe official levels)
