NC Programmer

NC PROGRAMMER - CONTRACT - DERBYSHIRE - GREAT RATES!

Our client, a leading engineering firm, have just released a requirement for a Numerical Control Programmer to work on an extensive programme. The job requires supporting of Manufacturing Engineering (ME) group on CNC Offline/Online programming. The job involves working in a challenging environment and supporting ME group for a large Engineering Manufacturer.

Typically Manufacturing Engineers are expected to support all ME related activities such as Manufacturing Process planning creation, Technical instruction writing, Tool design, CNC programming, Inspection planning and Cost estimation for various aero engine manufacturing programs.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

TECHNICAL SKILLS

- Ability to interpret engineering/manufacturing drawings
- Good knowledge of GD&T
- Good knowledge of various manufacturing processes
- Hands on experience in Online/Offline CNC programming
- Hands on experience on 3 Axis, 4 Axis and 5 Axis Machines also Turn-mill Centers
- Hands on Experience on Machines like Okuma, Hermle, WFL, DSG, Millac and Makino Machines
- Good understanding of Various Controllers like Fanuc, Siemens-840D and OSP Controllers and also
- Define the Cutting Strategies for various components and selection of Cutting Tools for both Turning and Milling
- Ability to support Program prove out in the Shop Floor
- Ability to decide Cutting Strategies based on Material behaviours, Close Tolerances and Component rigidity
- CNC Program Optimization as per the Shop floor and Quality team feedback.
- Well versed with Vericut, NX7.5 (and above) and Siemens Team Centre Engineering (PLM)
- Hands on Experience on cutting Titanium, Inconel and various Heat Resistant materials
- Sound knowledge on UDE's and Measurement (Probing) cycles in NX
- Effective coordination with various departments for like Planning, Inspection and Labs
- Awareness on Creation of Tool Assembly Models (Tool Libraries) in team centre is added advantage
- Awareness on FPD and FPA document creation

CAM SOFTWARES

- NX 7.5 and above - Modelling and Manufacturing
- Team Centre Engineering-Siemens
- Vericut 7.1.2 and above

SOFT SKILLS

- Excellent Communication skills and Inter personal skills
- Good hands on MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Problem Solving in Shop Floor

TYPICAL ACTIVITIES IN CNC PROGRAMMING:

- Drawing study
- Estimation on each executable programs
- Reading reference programs if available
- Interacting with Tool Manufacturer
- Strategizing the CNC Program
- Generation of Tool Path in NX7.5 and Team centre Environment
- Simulation in Vericut
- Creation of Shop Manuals
- Taking approval of FPD and FPA's
- Program Prove out and coordination
- CNC program buy-off

ADDITIONAL SKILLS BUT NOT MANDATORY:

- Good understanding of Gas Turbine Engine components
- Hands on experience in Process planning for precision machined components - Aero components preferred
- Hands on experience in Tool design (Jigs and Fixtures)
- NC Post Process Development and Customization
- Vericut Machine and Control Building
