Navigational Specialist in Taunton, Somerset for Government Sector Org

ROLE: NAVIGATIONAL SPECIALIST

LOCATION: TAUNTON, SOMERSET

DURATION: 6+ Months Initially with possible extension

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

- Experience in command of ship
- Significant practical experience of navigation and shipping experience in different parts of the world within the last 5 years
- STCW95 A-II/1 (Deck) Certificate of Competence or equivalent RN/seagoing qualifications
- An analytical mind and ability to exercise good judgment.
- Ability to write in clear and concise English and experienced use of standard Microsoft software programs such as Office, Word and Excel.

DESIRABLE:

- A comprehensive knowledge of the UKHO product range and relationship between products and departments.
- Production of NE of Publication NP100 (The Mariner's Handbook).and split of NP136 (Ocean Passages for the world) into 5 books, in line with standard procedures
- Oversight and management of the specialists providing input into book production
- Liaison and collaborate with Senior Navigation Specialists, PTMs and GMs - providing navigation advice
