Filton - £35ph - 6 month contract

Support the T26 Security Manager and lead on physical security design activities and implementation of physical security policy as necessary to achieve Fleet Physical Security Accreditation.

Key Technical Skills:
In depth Knowledge of relevant standards, including JSP440 and its application to design and construction of new ships as described in physical security Defence Standards.
Experience and a understanding of RN physical security
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Able to write readable technical documentation, and manipulate data in spreadsheets. 'right first time'.

Responsibilities

Major Tasks and Activities:
1. Define and manage physical security characteristics of the T26 Class Platform in accordance with Ship Specs.
2. Ensure that the appropriate security policies and processes are addressed by the T26 platform and equipment and by the engineering design process.
3. Develop definition of physical security requirements for all compartments.
4. Define security equipment and security furniture required in T26 compartments and ensure compliant fitting.
5. Develop design rules for T26 compartments and inspect and verify iaw DISR, CRL processes.
6. Assess compliance of the ship/compartment/equipment design with security requirements, architecture and policies, and propose risk mitigations
7. Monitor implementation of physical security features during ship construction, assess compliance with requirements, and manage non-conformance.
8. Assist in development of security risk assessment.
9. Manage third party suppliers to shipyards and/or T26 programme offices when necessary to achieve physical security requirements
10. Updating physical security documentation.
12. Liase with relevant inspection authorities and conduct audits, inspections to ensure compliance with Ship Security Specification.

Additional Key Accountabilities:
Ensure Fleet PSyA Physical Security Accreditation prior to customer handover.
The Individual

Company/Industry Knowledge:
Good understanding of relevant naval shipbuilding processes, IAW Security Policy Framework, Joint Services Publications, Defence Standards and CPNI standards for security furnishings and fittings
Understanding of the need to capture and maintain data generated for use by the project and the tools and techniques so used.
