NATO/SC Cleared Business Process Analyst

The primary purpose of this role is to support the OPS FS Baseline project by providing process analysis services. By documenting and analysing business processes, informed decisions can be made on improving them. The business process analyst leads and coordinates business use-case modelling by outlining and delimiting the organisation being modelled for example, by establishing what business actors and business use cases exist and how they interact.

The individual would be expected to cover a significant subset of the following capabilities and skills:

Skill set: 
i. Facilitate the review of existing business processes including clarification of existing documented process, best practices and immerging/evolving business processes. ii. Facilitate sessions with subject matter experts to clarify and validate existing processes, identify improvements, investigating emerging complex business requirements; documenting and presenting findings to the customer for approval. iii. Identify the root of business problems, choke points, information, application, and system shortfalls including obsolescence and redundancy of system elements. iv. Prepare detailed documentation (process diagrams & reports) v. Communicate among audiences (ie higher vi. Provide a deep understanding of Business Controls, audit and risk aspects in business processes as well as applications; vii. Collaborate with subject matter experts and the project team to establish the technical vision and analyse trade-offs between usability and performance needs of the process against functionality of the IT application. viii. Help to develop training courses, workshops and methods to support process management and provide support to operation and development teams; ix. Find ways of re-using the process information to support other key business activities

Specific desirable skill set required:
i. Previous experience of process/business analysis, preferable in a military environment, including defining operating models, designing new processes and their validation, understanding drivers for change and articulating high level requirements. ii. Ideally a knowledge and understanding of ARIS for documentation of business processes iii. Good listener and broad understanding of the NATO Command Structure iv. Facilitation skills at every level to ensure wide understanding and buy in to business processes v. Good interpersonal skills, strategic thinker vi. Ability to simplify complex things for wider understanding vii. Can create and use pictures, structures and frameworks which are visually appealing and make sense viii. Proven experience in the development of Standard Operating Procedures and/or Concepts of Operations documents ix. Experience in all Lifecycle aspects of Information Systems to achieve effective system development and deployment x. Good understanding of Customer requirements and ability to translate functional requirements into technical solutions xi. Ability to thrive under pressure xii. Ability to explain complicated processes in non-technical language xiii. Ability to express oneself clearly in English both orally and in writing xiv. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Management Information Systems or similar academic discipline. Significant relevant experience will be considered a substitute for a relevant degree-level qualification.
