MVS Developer

Our client is one of the world s leading finance services seeking a SOFTWARE DESIGN ENGINEER with solid experience in support of IBM Mainframe applications, ie MVS, Cobol, CICS, VSAM, JCL, PROCs.

The main function of a MVS Software Engineer is to apply the principles of computer science and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of the Mainframe software applications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor s degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant field (Required)
- 5-8 years of MVS programming (Required)
- Experience in support of IBM Mainframe applications - MVS, Cobol, CICS, VSAM, JCL, PROCs (Required)
- Knowledge of the full software development life cycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery (Required)
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue
- Connex Advantage platform Offline system settlement, reconciliation, and reporting knowledge (Preferred)
- Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills (Required)
- Ability to work independently and manage one s time (Required)
- Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback (Required)
- Financial Background strongly preferred
- Must sit onsite in Denver

This contract position is expected to be 11 months in duration.
