ST. JUDE CHILDREN\'S RESEARCH HOSPITAL has an opening for a MURINE BEHAVIOR RESEARCH SPECIALIST (JOB NUMBER 30535).

The MURINE BEHAVIOR RESEARCH SPECIALIST in the Developmental Neurobiology Department assists the principal investigators with experimental design and the collection and analysis of data for behavioral research projects. Manages all aspects of the Developmental Neurobiology (DNB) Behavioral Core Laboratory and trains and oversees the laboratory work of approved DNB personnel. Performs experiments with minimum supervision and learns and develops new procedures. Participates in the design and interpretation of experiments as well as presentation and/or publication of research. Assists in budget development and constantly assesses the Core's infrastructure and capabilities to ensure that it offers state-of-the-art support for murine behavior research. Performs other duties as assigned or directed in order to meet the goals and objectives of the department and the institution.

Research interests in the department of Developmental Neurobiology include investigations of models of neurodevelopmental defects, neurodegenerative diseases, brain tumors, schizophrenia, hearing loss, learning and memory, as well as neural phenotyping in the context of genetically modified models and preclinical therapeutic trials for disorders of the nervous system.
