A major financial services business based in Zurich is searching for a MSSQL Infrastructure DBA to take up a 12-month contract position as soon as possible.
Key tasks:
* Install, maintain, operate and support the MS SQL & Sybase Infrastructure Environment
* Active participation in the resolution of system and performance issues
* Close working relationship with other team members locally and globally to provide understanding across all components of the database environments
* DBA support for development teams and involvement in recommendations for new projects
* OnCall 24/7 standby service
* Sybase knowledge is an advantage
* Additional function to provide advice and assistance in terms of developing and progressing the infrastructure environments, including the assessment of needs and recommend solutions in an Enterprise IT
In order to be considered for this position the successful candidate needs to possess the following skills/experience:
* At least 5 years' experience and extensive knowledge with MS SQL Server 2008
* Good knowledge of Windows & SQL Server Clustering based on Windows Server 2003/2008 with VERITAS clustering and volume manager (SAN/NAS Storage)
* Trouble-shooting, Performance management
* Knowledge of installing and configuring SQL Server- Reporting Services, Integrations Services, Analysis Services.
* Knowledge management, including documentation
* Fluent in English, preferably also in German
