MSSQL DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR

On behalf of our client, a leading global company within finance, we are looking for a Sybase/MSSQL Database Administrator. For this contract position based in Zürich in Switzerland our client is looking for an English speaking candidate who can start as soon as possible. Your main responsibilities will be:

- Configuring, managing and maintaining MS SQL Servers
- Provides subject matter expertise in relation to MS SQL technologies
- Own, track and resolve database-related incidents
- Analyse and implement performance tuning
- Provide on-call support and shift work for production databases

The skills and experience needed for this position are:

- 5+ years' experience with MSSQL Server in a production environment
- with database and ETL development
- Experience in migrations
- Experience in performance tuning, query optimization, performance monitoring and tuning
- Experience with Profiler and other monitoring and troubleshooting tools, Failover Cluster, and Database Mirroring
- Knowledge of Sybase ASE 15.x, Sybase Replication Server 15.x, MS SQL Server 2005/2008/2012 is a plus
- Strong TSQL skills
- Knowledge of Windows Server OS (2008,2012), Solaris and Redhat Linux
- Good communication skills and a high degree of credibility are imperative
- Understanding of Investment Banking and Wealth Management business
- Basic understanding of financial products is a plus
