PROJECT NEED:

A MS SQLServer DBA is needed for an UPGRADE  OF THE DATABASE FROM MS SQL SERVER 2008 TO SQL SERVER 2012. (upgrade to our Client's PORTAL from MS SharePoint Server (MOSS 2007) to SharePoint Server 2013

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/EXPERTISE FOR THE DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR (DBA):

* Database Administrator (DBA) in MS SQL Server in an enterprise environment.  

- MS SQL Server 2008
- MS SQL Server 2010
- VMWare virtual server infrastructure
- MS Visio
- MS Office
- Experience in Production, test and development environments
- SSIS
- Experience upgrading instances from SQL Server 2008 to 2012
- Experience migrating from SQL Server 2008 to 2012
- Determining licensing requirements
- Determining virtual resources

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS DESIRED:

- MS SQL Server 2012
-  Government work experience a plus, but not required

WORK DUTIES: 

- Give recommendcations on licening needed to support the new SQL Server environments.
- Upgrade the following instances of MS SQL Server:
- Production
- Production RPT
- Test
- Development
- Migration of MS SQL Server Environments:
- Migrate the upgraded SQL Server environments to VIRTUAL server instances.
- Give recommendations for virtual server specifications and setup.
