MS SQL Database Administrator, Stockholm

An exciting opportunity is currently available in Stockholm, Sweden for an English-speaking MS SQL DBA. This position is located in the Public Sector.

We are looking for candidates with the following profile:

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

- Excellent experience working as DBA in MSSQL2005/2008/2012;
- Excellent experience with SSRS and SSAS;
- Excellent experience working with big databases (>100Gb);
- Excellent experience in code review, eg for TSQL stored procedures;
- Knowledge of HA (High Availability) and load balancing solutions;
- Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server and related databases;
- Experience working with database design and working together with a development team;
- Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft System Centre Operations Manager 2012;
- Knowledge of Powershell Scripting;
- Experience with Microsoft clustering;
- Knowledge of and experience with AD and ADFS;
- Knowledge of and experience with backup solutions;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2008r2 and 2012.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

- Excellent English (written/oral).
- Swedish skills are not required.

TASKS:

- Maintain the database Servers, review the database setups and configurations and where possible find and propose areas for improvements;
- Create working procedures for the other team members;
- Discuss with the development teams and the other administrators how possible design changes can solve problems in future releases;
- Integration of new systems into the existing environment;
- Ensure 2nd
- Document the current environment and changes to it;
- Identify the cause of problems, document, and develop an immediate, short-term, and/or long-term solution;
- Submit weekly reports to document the work done.

This position is offered as a freelance contract with a duration of approximately 1 year and a start in February 2014.
