MS SQL Database Administrator

MS SQL DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR

For our client in the banking sector we are looking for a candidate with min. 5 years recent experience in MS SQL Database and at least 4 years production support experience. This is a 6 month contract opportunity in Zürich, Switzerland.

For this project we require a team player with a lot of drive, who is able to work on multiple tasks and under a lot of pressure.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- Professional DBA of Microsoft SQL Server
- work experience in MS SQL ideally within the financial sector
- Good knowledge of Windows operating system and SQL Server Clustering based on Windows Server 2003/2008 with of VERITAS clustering and volume manager
- knowledge of installing and configuring SQL Server- Reporting Services, Integrations Services, Analysis Services.
- Good SQL and basic Scripting language knowledge
- English skills
- Good communication skills
- OnCall readiness

KNOWLEDGE WHICH IS AN ADVANTAGE:

- knowledge of Sybase RDBMS/Sybase IQ
- Experience with Oracle RDBMS
- skills and experience in DB Tuning/Optimization
- SAN/NAS Storage
- Virtualization Skills (VM-Ware)

NICE TO HAVE:

- ability to build and maintain customer relationships
- experience in writing documentation
- ITIL
- German skills
