A client based in East Midlands is currently looking for a Design Engineer with motorsport experience. This will be for an initial 6 month contract.

Role:

The candidate will be working on design assemblies and components. She/he will produce design schemes on CAD to enable production of detail component drawings for manufacture. Also carry out design calculations, reliable performance while meeting the specified design performance criteria. The candidate must be able to select proprietary components where possible in order to reduce cost while attaining the specified design criteria and manage working time to ensure that designs are delivered by specified deadlines.

Key skills:

- Create detail component, jigging and assembly drawings.
- Produce engineering release sheets to ensure that the correct items and quantities are entered on the Bill of Material for procurement which make up an assembly.
- Ensure that items are assembled and fitted correctly to the cars.
- Produce technical information for customers so that they can operate their cars successfully.
- Prepare and maintain the cars illustrated Parts List, with the assistance of the Production Engineer, so that the assembly layout of the car is clearly documented.
- Create resources for development parts, as directed by the Project Chief Engineer, and monitor their progress up to installation on the car.
- Keep records of all calculations and correspondence relating to a design to ensure that the design process can be reviewed at a later date.
