Mortgage Underwriter Job

MORTGAGE UNDERWRITER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in AGOURA HILLS, CA.

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Three (3) years of experience in mortgage underwriting, proficiency with DU and LP.
- Five (5) years experience with Microsoft Office suite of products; demonstrate ability with Excel and Word in addition to Adobe PDF.
- Thorough understanding of credit and an ability to review complex financial documents

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

- Underwrites residential loans ensuring compliance with lender and investor standards
- Examines loan documentation for accuracy, completeness and overall credit risk.
- Works with loan originator or production staff to secure all required documents.
- May respond to individual and investor audits.
- Underwrite conventional residential loans ensuring compliance with lender and investor standards.
- Examine loan documentation for accuracy, completeness and credit risk.
- This position may be subject to SAFE Act registration requirements.
- Failure to register successfully or to maintain good standing under the SAFE Act may affect your eligibility for continued employment and may result in termination.

WHAT A YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Three (3) years of experience in mortgage underwriting, proficiency with DU and LP.
- Five (5) years of experience with Microsoft Office suite of products; demonstrate ability with Excel and Word in addition to Adobe PDF.
- Thorough understanding of credit and an ability to review complex financial documents
- Ability to calculate income, including tax return analysis and to properly catalog findings into a concise effective written summary.
