SENIOR MAINFRAME PROGRAMMER REQUIRED - FINANCIAL SERVICES - JANUARY 2013 START
6 MONTH CONTRACT INITIALLY - OPPORTUNITY FOR EXTENSION
This client is a large player in the Banking Sector. They are currently looking to engage a Senior Mortgage/Loans Mainframe Contract Developer for a 6 month contract due to continued project requirements within their business unit.
You will join a team of 25+ in this team and take on the role of Senior Mainframe Developer/Programmer as part of a large business unit of 100+
YOUR ROLE:
- Manage key projects through the full SDLC from project management and analysis through to development.
- You will work closely with business analysts to translate requirements and develop applications across a wide range of financial systems and products in the mortgage or loan area of business
- Develop critical business applications using Cobol, JCL & CICS.
- You will manage multiple projects at any given time.
- You will have a broad understanding of financial business products, processes and systems within the banking sector - ideally mortgages & loans
YOUR SKILLS:
- You will have at least 5 years development experience in the financial services sectors - Financial Services, Insurance or Banking. You will have worked predominantly with Cobol, CICS and JCL within a Mainframe environment.
- You will have experience of the full SDLC of projects and have been responsible for taking projects throughout the full life cycle.
- You will have key understanding of a range of financial products and understand the implications of application changes to systems as product requirements change.
- You will have outstanding analysis, design and programming experience, and will have had some exposure to project management.
- You will be someone who has proven communication skills and has shown initiative and drive in delivering projects in tight timeframes.
