Monitoring Support Technician

Projektbeschreibung
Randstad Professionals in Zurich is actively looking for a Monitoring Support Technician to join our client's team in Zurich, Switzerland
Responsibilities
The primary areas of responsibility are as follows:
- Be a lead point of contact for Swiss related Monitoring Issues (with a heavy focus on BMC products including Patrol)
- Support the stability of global monitoring infrastructure located in CH
- Maintain CH event/alert quality at GPC Event management consoles and ensure minimum noise is generated
- Analysing new monitoring requests and implement them with the assistance of the monitoring baseline governance board or application owners
- Coordinate with the extended team members on changes (RFCs)
- Ensure that Event management team handling CH alerts can abide by the OLA for each alert
- Ensure Event Management team can eliminate noise, co-relate events without escalation and without risk to production
- Ensure all monitoring changes are known by Event Management teams, and equipped to handle the changes
- Check the event management consoles regularly to spot any anomaly and report
- Troubleshoot monitoring problems
- Track Monitoring issues & work with extended teams to implement fixes
- Troubleshoot logfile management problems
Required skill set
- EXPERIENCE IN BMC PERFORMANCE MANAGER/PATROL.
- EXPERIENCE IN SPLUNK (LOGFILE MANAGEMENT TOOL)
- Advantage to be given to people with skills in BMC Event Management, Symantec Insight Inquire, I3 tools
- Installation and support knowledge in Monitoring products
- At least basic Unix/Linux, SQL & XML knowledge
- Experience in Unix Shell Scripting, Regular expression is an advantage
- Self starter and one who embraces change quickly.
- Advanced English skills

- Able to work under pressure, making sound judgement calls and retaining accountability.
