Monitoring and Control Solution - Design Lead - TIBCO RV, HAWK, NJAMS/Businessworks

Next Ventures seeks an experienced TIBCO Design Lead for Monitoring Solutions Virtualisation and Messaging for a key project in Switzerland.

You will be rersponsible for
Leading the solution design work for a sustainable monitoring and control solution

Main characteristics/scope
customer has an IT environment consisting of a diverse set of IT applications including communication systems used for Air support operational purposes
Collecting and correlating events generated throughout this IT environment to obtain a consistent and up-to-date representation of the status is a key capability; customer has an IT application in place, which monitors the IT environment and also offers limited control function allowing to react in case of certain events
In future new infrastructure services (virtualization technology and an integration platform or ESB) will increasingly be used; the infrastructure is operated by an external service provider who will therefore also have monitor and control capabilities covering the infrastructure
Customer intends to introduce business activity monitoring capabilities based on the nJAMS product
IT applications will take advantage of the new infrastructure services now available and be progressively migrated according to the schedule of Strategic programme delivery roadmap or their application life cycle planThe changed situation (with a new infrastructure and an external service provider) makes a comprehensive assessment of the future needs and design of a suitable solution necessary.

Experience
Number of years of experience overall at least 10 Years
At least 10 years in a similar role in the context of monitoring and control
4 to 5 years of experience with relevant TIBCO products: HAWK, SNMP Plugin, TEA
4 to 5 years with HP OM and vCenter

Experience in Tools
MS Office and MS Visio

Technical competences and skills
Excellent knowledge of monitoring concepts on all layers from infrastructure to business activity
Good knowledge of maintenance and operations of IT infrastructure
Can communicate with experts and engage them to collaboratively develop the target situation
Can communicate with decision makers to achieve an agreement on open points
Self-driven personality, which can work within a team
Excellent oral communication and writing skills in English language

Tasks
§ Lead the solution design work; report to the project manager
§ Define the detailed approach to conduct the work in collaboration with the project manager
§ Identify any additional experts needed
§ Discuss with various stakeholders to collect and understand the monitoring & control requirements
§ Review the proposed solution (from the supplier) regarding his/her scope of monitoring & control
§ Define and assess the solution options based on the requirements and the best usage of the existing toolchain: vCenter, HP Operations Manager, TIBCO HAWK, etc. when considering the plan to introduce nJAMS
§ Perform a technical SWOT analysis on the proposed alternatives mentioned above
§ Make a recommendation and prepare the decision-making process together with the project manager
§ Provide the detailed solution design to realize the recommendation

Knowledge of virtualization platforms in general such as VMware
Experience with Business Activity Monitoring tools such as nJAMS
Experience with other TIBCO products such as EMS and BusinessWorks
German and/or French
