MOD RGN

Castlerock Recruitment Group are currently looking for an experienced and competent registered nurse (upper band 6) to work within a medical centre near Fareham, Hampshire. This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week) locum post to start ASAP until October 2012.

The successful candidate will work as part of a multi disciplinary primary healthcare team delivering general medical services and elements of occupational health to patients. The candidate will be required to work unsupervised providing nursing and pre-hospital emergency care to the medical centre population.

Qualification minima and experience

Essential
*Must be registered with the NMC and hold a valid PIN.
*One year's satisfactory previous experience at Band 6.
*Minimum of two to three years post registration experience in Primary Health Care practice.
*Experienced and competent in Immunisation, Venepuncture, Audiology.
*Patient Group Directive (PGDs) in a related Community Health discipline or portfolio evidence of equivalent experience.

Desirable
*Experience in relevant areas, e.g. Occupational Health Nursing (OHN), clinical supervision, Supporting Learning and Assessment in Practice (or equivalent), Travel Medicine, Cervical Cytology, Asthma Diploma, Chronic Disease management - diabetes and asthma, etc.
*Competence in audiometry, smoking cessation, ear syringing and vaccination.
*Well Woman and family planning clinics.
*Previous experience of working with MOD
