Mobile Library Driver - Various Essex Locations

THE ROLE:

This role has been established to drive a mobile library vehicle in accordance with a daily-time table. To welcome library users and help provide an efficient and effective quality mobile library service.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

CURRENT DRIVING LICENCE MUST COVER C OR C+E CATEGORY VEHICLES.

(CATEGORIES C1, C1+E, D, D+E, D1 OR D1+E ARE NOT VALID FOR THIS VEHICLE)

. Experience of driving large vehicles and carrying out routine vehicle checks.
. Working with the public in a customer orientated service 
. AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD (FOR INSURANCE PURPOSES)* Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and Saturdays

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE EXPERIENCE OF DRIVING LARGE VEHICLES AND CARRYING OUT ROUTINE VEHICLE CHECKS WHILST HAVING A CURRENT LGV CLASS 2 DRIVING LICENCE.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

. To undertake all stock circulation procedures including: issue and discharge of loanable items, reservation procedures, stock maintenance, overdue procedures, and fines
. To maintain and clean the vehicle in accordance with the requirements set out on the daily log sheet book including delivery and collection of vehicle for maintenance/repair
. Help customers with their related enquiries, and to be involved with customer consultation
. To deliver books and equipment as required
. To be proactive in the promotion and marketing of all services.
