MOBILE APPS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

We seek an experienced Mobile Apps Development Manager, to oversee and manage major parts of an upcoming Mobile App project for a large UK-based mobile network operator and Internet service provider.

The ideal candidate will have a number of years' experience in web and mobile app development alongside experience of managing a team of Developers. The role will involve working with any third party development teams and close liaison with the likes of Apple, Microsoft, BlackBerry, Google and Amazon regarding licensing and distribution.

This is an exciting opportunity to head up a large development project and have responsibility for growing the development team within.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

- Experience of managing a development team, including both contract and permanent staff
- Experience of Agile development methodologies
- Must have previous development experience across iOS and Android
- Experience of web app/mobile app development
- Extensive experience developing for phones and tablet devices
- Experience managing/co-ordinating tasks carried out by external suppliers
- Experience managing third party developer teams
- Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical colleagues
- Experience of defining and using web services, APIs and Content Management Systems
- Experience and understanding of RFP process, adding/removal of suppliers from PSL (preferred)
- Project Management experience (preferred)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders throughout project life cycle to ensure a clearly defined user experience
- Working with business sponsors and technology leads to create project plans, managing assumptions, dependencies, costs and risks
- Overseeing external agencies across multiple time zones to ensure that their contribution meets expectations
- Providing the technology management team and project sponsors with timely status reports, raising and managing keys issues and risks
- Managing the day to day planning and development of a range of mobile projects across different business units including existing on-going projects
- Ensuring the continued use of appropriate technologies, architecture and security frameworks across all mobile projects
