MIGRATION MANAGER - DATA CENTER MIGRATION (DCM) PROGRAM - FOR A BANKING ORGANISATION
LITHUANIA - VILNIUS
Our client is running a program on Consolidating their Data Centers leading multiple streams of migration of infrastructure. They are looking for MIGRATION MANAGERS with a very sound experience in having run an end-to-end Data Center Migration program.
ROLE: Data Center Migration Manager
LOCATION: Vilnius, Lithuania.
INITIAL CONTRACT PERIOD: 1 year
START DATE: ASAP

OVERALL JOB PROPOSE:
The Migration Manager will be responsible for the below aspects of the various migration projects of the DCM program.
PLANNING:
- Plan and manage all in-scope migrations and decommissions
- Diarising regular review meetings and pre-migration go/no go checkpoints with delivery teams and key stakeholders
- Engaging with service owners, application teams and primary contacts for each migration
- Escalation of any migration risks, issues and dependencies.
- Agreeing migration pre-requisites with Delivery teams and technical designer(s)
IMPLEMENTATION:
- Creating technical implementation plan for each migration with input from component teams.
- Change management - raising migration changes in service now, including TIP and any other relevant docs based on input from the Delivery teams; representing changes at CAB where required
- Resource mobilisation - formalising resource requests with all Delivery teams
- Creating required HIT, ESP and courier requests etc. as required for each migration
- Scheduling progress reporting of in-flight migration activity, acting as a SPOC for the delivery teams and key stakeholders on migration-day. Updates throughout the migration day, may include teleconferences, e-mail bulletins, SMS group updates etc., as agreed on a case by case basis.
- Sign off testing and confirm migration success or re-plan where necessary.
REPORTING AND COMMUNICATION:
- Post-migration status reporting and issue resolution co-ordination, following agreed DCM Programme processes, with delivery teams; escalating out of line situations to Project/Programme Manager
- Communicating with platform decommissioning teams to commence decommission activity post migration
- Track out of scope migrations (dependent projects) some of which may become in-scope of the DCM programme.
- Remove service mappings from service now to reflect updated IP addresses and location of devices.
PERSON SPECIFICATION - SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERTISE:
- Experience of having undertaken migration projects in a DC Consolidation programs. (financial controls, project controls, managing documentation libraries etc).
- IT Industry experience
- Proactive
- Strong attention to detail and ability to get it right first time
- Very good communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills and team working
- Takes ownership for completion of tasks and resolution of issues
- Good knowledge of typical IT project delivery life cycle
- Fully competent in MS Office tool set
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to manage workload balancing multiples demands.
- Basic understanding of Project Management principles and methods.
DESIRABLE SKILLS:
- SAP skills
- Experience in a PMO Function for a large corporate company, working with Project Plans, control Risks & issue Logs and status tracking and reporting and maintaining libraries of documentation etc.
