Migration/Integration Analyst (SQL Server 2008 R2, Access 2003, IT Development, Microsoft Visual C++)

My Client is a leading Financial Services provider in need or a Migration/Integration Analyst to join on a 6 months contract.

The jobholder will plan the migration of a series of Access tools to link to SQL Server tables.

The jobholder will be required to make changes to the Access tools and undertake a sufficient level of testing.

The jobholder will liaise with IT Development and ensure that the proposed technical changes made to the Access tools are consistent with technical standards.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

- Plan redevelopment of Access      tools to use SQL Server tables
- Make changes to Access tools      to migrate from Access 2003 to SQL Server 2008 R2 and develop reports as      needed using SQL Server Reporting Services
- Undertake System and      Integration testing with IT Development staff and User Acceptance Testing      with relevant business departments.
- Ensure UAT results are      correct and signed off
- Co-ordinate live      implementation with IT Development

Qualifications/Work Experience

- Knowledge of Equity &      Fixed Income instruments.
- Computer literate, in      particular Excel, Access ‘97 and/or 2003, SQL and VBA. Experience of      Microsoft Visual C++ would be desirable,
- Substantial experience      migrating large/complex Access databases to a SQL Server 2008 R2      environment.
- Strong experience with SQL      Server Reporting Services.
- Strong numerate and      analytical skills and able to undertake non-traditional analytical tasks      with relevant mathematical or scientific degree
- Ability to work accurately      and achieve operational goals under the pressure of tight deadlines.
