Middleware Systems Engineer Job

Yoh has a 12 month contract opportunity for a MIDDLEWARE SYSTEMS ENGINEER to join our client in St. Louis, Missouri.

JOB OVERVIEW:

- This is an opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer for a 12 month contract. The client is looking for someone with both AIX and Middleware experience: Tomcat and WebLogic. This resource will be doing a lot of analysis of the operating system and its performance. Dynatrace monitoring tool experience is a plus however the tech stack for this area is AIX - Tomcat/Weblogic - Oracle.
- There is a possibility to convert to FTE in the future.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Designs, develops, tests, implements, maintains, and supports moderately complex components of the systems infrastructure.
- Evaluates and integrates software and hardware requests.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred and two to four years of related experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of three (3) years system engineering/administration experience in IBM/AIX
- At least three (3) years of experience working with the basics of UNIX operating system theory, associated 3rd party software products, and hardware components
- Able to understand AIX system performance measurements and analyze overall system performance
- Understands system tuning parameters and able to analyze and modify memory, disk and network parameters
- Proficient in KSH or Perl Scripting
- Understands VIO architecture and is able to work with other teams to manage and resolve disk and network issues
- Experience with WebLogic and Tomcat Application Server software

PREFERRED JOB SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:

- Experience with Dynatrace monitoring tool is a plus.
- Knowledge of major database distributions, preferably Oracle is a plus
