MIDDLEWARE SPECIALIST

Our client based in South Dublin is currently looking for a Middleware Consultant for a contract position.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

- Build and management of WebSphere ND infrastructure across Unix, zOS and Windows platforms
- Architect Enterprise Web Application Hosting including design of Availability and Security strategy
- Performance tuning and capacity planning
- Production support of Enterprise Applications across heterogeneous environments including configuration and management of application monitoring tools
- Demonstrated understanding of and experience working with J2EE specifications and applications
- Development and maintenance of operational documentation and specifications on system builds and SOPs.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED INCLUDE:

- Extensive technical knowledge and hands-on experience with WebSphere ND.
- Working knowledge of enterprise web applications, systems and supporting technologies including Firewalls, load balancing, and IHS/Apache.
- Deployment experience with a J2EE, EJB, JSP, HTML and XML based solutions required.
- Unix and zOS platform experience required
- Experience of implementing and maintaining systems in a fully HA environment
- Application deployment techniques and procedures
- Proven ability to multi-task and strong problem solving skills
- Highly productive and flexible in approach to tasks and individuals
- Demonstrates a positive, 'can do' attitude and works well in dynamic environment
- Customer focussed, approachable and interacts well with other teams
- An ability to read, analyse and interpret common business documents
