Mid Java Developer (Western Sydney)

A rare opportunity exists for a mid level Java Developer on a long term contract in a well known Australian media organisation. You will work alongside the Technical Lead developing application services that will provide support and project enhancement across the business, covering a broad range of both the latest and Legacy technologies.

Key responsibilities:

* Development of software in accordance with application standards and practices.
* Development of test harnesses for web services interfaces.
* Development of Unit Test cases using Nunit or similar tool in Java.
* Support System and User Acceptance Testing.
* Participate in the project quality reviews.
* Ensure activities and deliverables conform within the guidelines of standard project management methodology and change management processes.

Key requirements:

* 2+ years as Java developer in Web services/SOAP/WSDL.
* Experience in test driven development.
* Able to develop from User Cases and UML Class Diagrams
* SQL including PSQL Stored Process in an Oracle environment
* Development in a UNIX environment
* Excellent attention to detail

Desirable:

* Previous experience with web content management systems (CMS).
* Exposure to Documentum
* Development experience in Red Hat Linux environment.
* Nunit and/or Junit testing software.
* Exposure to Firefox, XUL, AJAX.
