On behalf of our client, a leading multinational financial services company, Swisslinx is looking for a solid MS SQL 2008 DBA to join a database team within IT Operations.
Are you looking for an interesting opportunity that gives you the chance work in an international and challenging environment?
In this role, you will be joining a team of SQL Server and Sybase specialists who looks after around 1000 SQL instances with around 6000 SQL databases within IT Operations. Additionally, the team participates in projects and therefore works closely with the storage and other teams in order to implement Windows SAN/NAS Storage).
Your tasks will include a versatile set of tasks which are geared to ensure the operations of this database environment. Therefore, you will provide troubleshooting and performance management/improvements on SQL databases, help building Windows especially with Clusters on Windows Server 2003/2008
- Experience with VERITAS Clustering and Volume Manager, as well as SAN/NAS Storage
- Experience in installing System Administration experience is a strong plus
- Previous experience in large data environments
- Very good English skills; German is beneficial
