For an internationally renowned research institute, we are looking for a Microfluidics engineer in life science technologies
START DATE: Mid November 2016
DURATION: 6 months, with possibility of extension
LOCATION: Leuven, Belgium
LANGUAGE: English
Function description
We are looking for an engineer with a background in the field of microfluidics, and more specifically in Life Science applications of microfluidics. She/he has to be highly motivated to work in a lab environment on a daily basis together with our design engineers and application scientists. Hands-on laboratory experience is required.
This person will have to:
Work closely with an interdisciplinary team of engineers and biologists
Test prototype microfluidic devices
Analyze test results according to scientific standards
Design and execute test plans together with application scientists
Interface with external vendors for selection of components or procurement of customized parts
Function Requirements:
You have at Master or a PhD degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, bio-engineering, physics or other equivalent discipline.
You have at least 2 years of experience in microfluidic device testing, having matured this experience in Life Science related activities will be an asset.
It is essential that you are a hands-on person with excellent engineering skills and a personal drive to achieve project goals.
You have experience working in a research or development environment involving early prototype development
You are a team player.
You are fluent in English and have excellent communication skills
