Microbiologist Technician Job

MICROBIOLOGIST TECHNICIAN needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Pleasanton, CA.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Comfortable performing typical microbiology lab procedures such as, aseptic technique, media preparation, autoclaving, and data recording.
- He/she will follow established protocols to perform laboratory experiments including bacterial/fungal plating, bacterial/fungal identification and quantification.
- Basic molecular biology, and other biological science techniques.
- He/she will operate basic laboratory equipment such as a centrifuge, pH meter, analytical balance, incubator, spectrophotometer, light microscope, and laminar flow HOOD.
- Will use Microsoft Excel for data entry and analysis and to maintain accurate data records.
- He/she will comply with safety standards through proper handling of potentially hazardous chemical and biological agents and use universal safety precautions to protect self and co-workers from biohazardous materials.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Associates of Science degree, or minimum of two (2) years of college with focus in Chemistry, Engineering Technology, or other science discipline.
- Preference is given to candidates that have a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology or related field with hands-on microbiology lab experience.
- A good understanding of microorganism identification and environmental microbiology techniques is a plus.
